Teaching and Lifestyle...

Leadership is about following a great example and then getting others to follow your example as you follow another's example.

"A leader influences others with their life rather than their lecture."

The greatest discipleship tool is the lifestyle of what you are teaching. The greatest evangelism resource is your personal life that you live in front of others. Many people talk but many don't walk. They love teaching others but they lack integrity when it comes to living out what they teach. 

1 Corinthians 11:1 You are to imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. 2 Now I commend you for remembering me in everything and for maintaining the traditions, just as I passed them on to you...

Leaders who make disciples:

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that you have heard me say among many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be qualified to teach others as well.

New Living Translation You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

2 Timothy 1:13 Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching you have heard from me, with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Teaching is the foundation of discipleship. Jesus told us to teach all nations (Matthew 28). Without teaching we aren't making disciples. We reproduce leaders and disciples through teaching. But always remember that saying one thing and doing the opposite will hurt you and the one you're teaching in the end. Teaching always involves lifestyle. It's called SHOW and TELL.

Don't disciple others in faith if you are full of fear, intimidation, insecurity, low-self esteem, doubt, and trying to figure "all of this stuff out". You would be a liar and a fake. Don't teach on multiplying churches if you don't believe in what we are doing. The point is, when you're discipling others or leading them, lead with integrity (living the life) first then your message. Develop yourself. Lead yourself. Have self control before you teach others what self-control is.
