Use Your Time Wisely
Who are you reaching? Are you so focused on stubborn people who refuse to change that you miss the people who are actually ready?
Matthew 7:6: Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Who are the "dogs" Jesus is talking about? This word comes from the Greek word kunun, describing the wild, unclean dogs that roamed outside Jerusalem. They ate from garbage dumps and were dangerous and diseased. They were untamed and always tried to get into places where they didn't belong.
Sadly, some people act just like those dogs. Jesus used this example to describe people who are "untamed" and refuse to follow any authority. They wander from church to church, using and abusing pastors, and trying to get into positions they shouldn't be in.
This means that before we share our deepest experiences and invest our energy into someone, we need to be sure they are serious about God. Our time is too precious to waste on people who don't care and won't listen.
Have you been spending all your energy on someone who is bullheaded and resists you at every turn? If they stubbornly ignore your help and get offended when you try to guide them, it might be time to move on to someone who is open-hearted and truly wants to learn.
Eventually, you have to stop wasting time on people who don't care. You can still pray for them and love them, but if they don't want to receive what you are offering, turn your attention elsewhere.
Matthew 10:14 (NLT): If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.
It is not wise to stay in a place where the Word is not welcomed. Move on and find the RECEIVERS!
