Possess: have as belonging to one; own.
God wants us to own this vision. Own buildings. Own land and properties for His glory. Yes, we are stewards of the earth, but we are also possessors of the earth. HE GAVE it to us. We must think like owners if we are going to establish his Kingdom around this nation.
Ps 115:16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.
Deut 1:6 The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates. 8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”
If you’re going to possess things, you must have an ownership mentality. You take into your possession that which you have the ability to possess, the freedom to possess, and the knowledge to possess.
People who take the oversight are usually those who possess things in life. They are not just sitting there waiting for things to supernaturally happen, no they supernaturally go after things. They are always open to new opportunities and when they are made known by the Holy Spirit, possessors will possess those things. Own them, receive them. Take into their possession.
God gives us the earth. God gives us land and sets it right in front of us, but that doesn’t mean we automatically possess it. You MUST take it, possess it, fight for it. It is yours but it will sit there dormant until you possess it. God gives but you possess (take on ownership).
Ps 115:15 May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth He has given to mankind.
The earth is the Lord’s, that’s how He is able to give it to us. This is also why it’s our fault for the condition it’s in. He gave it to us for us to do right by it. This is called authority or domination. When you have just an employee mentality, you’re waiting for the boss to solve problems and fix things, but those who understand authority and ownership will solve problems. Of course, with God we are managers, ambassadors, contract workers, and stewards, but we manage from a place of authority; an understanding that God turned this over to us. We also understand that we are owners because we are joint-heirs with Christ and Heirs of God. Heirs always receive what the Father leaves behind for them to OWN.
Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
One sign of a great leader is their mindset to own their vision, their gifts, their business. Stop just managing and start owning it. We are all managers in some sort, but God is looking for apostolic people who will take ownership and become the greatest influence in the earth. You are in the family business.
You’re no longer a stranger, but a fellow citizen in the household of God (Eph 2:19). God’s spirit confirms with your spirit that you are a child of God (Romans 8:16). God gives His Kingdom to His children (Luke 12:32). We don’t only manage it we are co-owners of it. We are joint-heirs with Christ.
People who don’t own things don’t care as much about it as the owner does. They only start caring once they take on ownership. Then the details matter to them. Excellence matters.
Think like the boss and you will work better, and you will get promotions and raises and new opportunities. Think like an employee and you will be treated like one and you will work like one.
What would happen in our churches if everyone thought they came up with the vision and started acting like they were the pioneer, the apostle, the owner?
Ownership is a mentality. A way of thinking. It’s not that we own everything, it’s means we take on ownership and think how the boss would think.
Even the ant is an owner. Prov 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
Prov 23:7 "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he".
Joshua 1:2“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore arise, you and all these people, and cross over the Jordan into the land I am giving to the children of Israel. 3I have given you every place where the sole of your foot will tread, just as I promised to Moses. 4Your territory shall extend from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great River Euphrates—all the land of the Hittites—and west as far as the Great Sea.…
A Word “I believe” the Holy Spirit gave to me back in 2018
“I have given you the United States. If your foot walks it, that’s what I have given you. Your territory extends from the wilderness of East Texas to the great cities Las Vegas, California, and New York. You will possess land, build, and establish the Kingdom of God with congregations in every state. I can’t give them to you, until you walk them”.
The Apostle Paul traveled and went everywhere unless the Holy Spirit pulled him back from a certain city at that particular time. He was given those cities. The church in Jerusalem went to Samaria and that city was given to them. They were now responsible for being the City Council (Church) in that city. Once those Christians landed in that city, many of them stayed and they probably eventually owned land, houses, established business, etc.
Let's be possessors!
