A Clear, Biblical Look at the Oneness of God
Who is God? Who is Jesus Christ? Who is the Holy Spirit? And what does the Bible actually mean when it speaks about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost?
These are not minor theological questions. What we believe about God affects how we read Scripture, how we worship, how we pray, and how we communicate our faith to others.
In my book, God in One Person: Blessed Jesus Christ, I take a clear, biblical look at the Oneness of God and the revelation of God in Jesus Christ.
One of the major issues I address is translation and interpretation. The Bible is inspired by God, but translations are produced by people. Many of our most widely used English translations were produced primarily within a Trinitarian theological framework. That makes it important to go beneath the English wording and examine the original Hebrew and Greek, biblical context, and how particular words and passages have been translated and interpreted.
The book also explores questions such as: Who is the Holy Spirit? What does “Son of God” mean? What is the “right hand” of God? Why did the apostles baptize in the name of Jesus? How should we understand Matthew 28:19 alongside Acts 2:38? And to whom will every knee ultimately bow?
My purpose is to help believers move beyond simply saying, “God is One,” and become better equipped to explain why we believe it from Scripture.
